Choose your everyday setting
Before comparing Phuket hotels, decide what you want outside the door. Phuket Old Town suits a plan built around Thalang Road, Soi Romanee, museums and local meals. Patong puts a developed beach district, shops and restaurants at the centre of the stay. Nai Yang points you towards a different coast setting beside Sirinath National Park. These are starting points for a map comparison, not a ranking of hotels. Write down what you would like to reach on foot, then inspect each hotel's exact location rather than its destination label. “Phuket” covers very different settings. A room that looks ideal can still be inconvenient for the experiences you have planned. Start with two possible areas and compare actual addresses within them.
Read the map as part of the room description
Check the route from the entrance to your main daily destination. A short straight-line distance does not establish a pleasant walk, a public beach entrance or a step-free route. Look at the street, crossings and slope, and ask the property when those details matter to your group. Identify where a driver can collect you and how you will return after dinner. If you expect to use a bus, compare the operator's current stops and timetable with your address. Do this before you let an attractive pool photograph settle the decision.
Compare the complete stay
Use the same dates, guest count and room type for every quote. Check whether breakfast, taxes, extra beds and transfers are included, and read what the room description actually promises. A family room label does not explain the bed layout. A sea-view label does not tell you whether there is a balcony. For a longer stay, ask about laundry, workspace and housekeeping if you need them. Save the final price and cancellation conditions together so that a flexible offer is not mistaken for a cheaper non-refundable one.
Keep the itinerary beside the booking
For an Old Town and food itinerary, plot Thalang Road and your chosen restaurants first. For a coast-led trip, compare Patong, Kata and Karon addresses against the beach entrance you intend to use. For a southern day, put Wat Chalong and Laem Phromthep on the map before deciding which other stops belong together. Choose a base that supports most of your days, then arrange occasional longer outings deliberately. Moving hotels can make sense for a split trip, but packing, checkout and waiting for a new room consume time. For a short visit, one base and a compact itinerary may be simpler. Before paying, confirm arrival arrangements and the exact property name. This guide compares planning decisions rather than recommending a hotel we have inspected. Use our three-day itinerary to see which base suits your priorities, and our transport guide to test how those days would work without a scooter.
